Keep It Simple

Every time I schedule a newborn session I ask mom or dad if they have preferences on color, props, poses. I would say most of the time the mom says “I trust you”. I can’t tell you how much those three words mean to me considering I’m meeting these little ones sometimes before grandparents do. While I do love color, some light props, florals etc, my go to, my absolute favorite, is a white blanket on the bean bag with neutral color clothing. There is something so classic dressing baby in a simple, timeless outfit with gentle posing and beautiful lighting. Sure, props can help make the image look more like art but photographing your little one in a more natural setting, showcasing how tiny, beautiful and perfect these days old little humans are, that’s what has my heart.
